Sooji Kitchedi (Rava Kitchaedi)

Ingredients

  1. Sooji (Rava)                                        - 150 gm
  2. Bengal gram dhal                             - 1 tsp
  3. Black gram                                          - 1 tsp
  4. Onion                                                    - 1
  5. Beans                                                    - 20 gm
  6. Carrot                                                   - 20 gm
  7. Green peas                                        - 30 gm
  8. Mustard seeds                                  - 1 tsp
  9. Asafoetida                                          - a pinch
  10. Chilli powder                                      - 1 tsp
  11. Green chillies                                     - 4
  12. Ghee                                                     - 50 gm
  13. Curry leaves                                       - 1 spring
  14. Salt                                                         - to taste

Method

  1. Chop all vegetable.
  2. Fry sooji in dry Kadai till golden brown.
  3. Heat ghee in Kadai add mustard seeds then add black gram, Bengal gram, green chillies, chopped, curry leave, fry slightly.
  4. Add chopped onion and asafoetida fry well.
  5. Then add vegetable, salt cook and add chilli powder fry well.
  6. Then add double the quantity of water and allow boiling.
  7. Then add sooji (fried) stir continuously.
  8. Till water evaporates, stir well.
  9. Remove from heat and close the vessel leave for 10 minutes.
  10. The add sooji (fried) stir continuously.
  11. Open the lid and serve hot with chutney / samber.
