Potato Khurma

Ingredients

  1. Potato                                                  - 100 gm
  2. Onion                                                    - 100 gm
  3. Tomato                                                                - 100 gm
  4. Ginger                                                  - 1 (1 Pinch piece)
  5. Garlic                                                     - 6 flakes
  6. Green chillies                                     - 10
  7. Coconut                                               - ½
  8. Cloves                                                   - 3
  9. Aniseed                                                               - 1 tsp
  10. Cinnamon                                           - 2 pieces
  11. Cardamom                                          - 2
  12. Coriander powder                           - 1 tsp
  13. Turmeric powder                             - a pinch
  14. Oil                                                           - 5 tsp
  15. Salt                                                         - to taste                                             
  16. Coriander leaves                              - 2 springs
  17. Curry leaves                                       - 2 springs
  18. Curd                                                      - 1 spoon full

Method

  1. Chop the, onion, tomato, coriander leaves.
  2. Grind ginger, garlic, green chillies, make a fine paste.
  3. Peel the potato cut in to small pieces grate the coconut and set aside.
  4. Grind the coconut, cloves, cinnamon, Aniseed and make a fine paste.
  5. Heat the fry the onion, ginger garlic paste till golden brown colour and add green chillies paste.
  6. Then add, turmeric and coriander powder with one cup of water mix well then add potato and allow it, to cook then add coconut paste.
  7. Cook in a slow fire, then add curd and stir well. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves.
