Alu Bonda

 Ingredients

  1. Onion                                                    - 1 cup
  2. Potato (Boiled & Mashed)           - 1 cup
  3. Green peas and  carrot                  - 1 ½ cups
  4. Green chillies (Chopped)              - 1
  5. Lemon juice                                       - 1 tsp
  6. Bengal gram flour                            -  1 tsp
  7. Mustard seeds                                  -  1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder                             -  a pinch
  9. Backing soda                                      - ½ tsp
  10. Ginger (Chopped)                           - ¼ pinch piece
  11. Coriander leaves                              - 1 spring
  12. Salt                                                         - to taste
  13. Oil                                                           - 5 tsp

Method

  1. Heat oil in kadai, add mustard seeds, onion ginger, fry well.  Then add carrot, green peas, and turmeric powder, salt, green chillies mix well.
  2. Cook in slow fire at least 10 minutes add mashed potato, coriander leaves, lemon juice, mix well and remove from heat.
  3. Dilute Bengal gram flour in water with oil 3 tsp, salt and Baking soda mix well.
  4. Make a ball in potato mixer.
  5. Dip the balls in diluted Bengal gram flour, water and fry in oil.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot.
